Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) is an uncommon vaginal bacteriosis disease caused by bad bacteria. There are bacteria inside the vagina that can be categorized into two: the good and bad bacteria. Usually the good bacteria help to eliminate or control the formation of the bad bacteria. For women having an upset balance between these two kinds of bacteria, it caused them Bacterial Vaginosis. BV is an imbalance of the naturally occurring bacteria called flora. BV is usually confused with an infection caused by the bacteria Trichomonas vaginalis (trichomoniasis) or known to be as yeast infection.
One of the main causes of Bacterial Vaginosis is associated with sexual activity but there is no clear evidence on the transmission of the bacteria itself and also, one might suffer from this disease without having any sexual activity, it can be caused by a biological disorder in the body. Bacterial Vaginosis is not a sexuality transmitted disease although having more than one partner or a new sex partner can increase the risk of having this problem. Continue reading
